Horror and valour sit side by side in war. Goodness is not quenched even by near overwhelming evil. By why do we go to war? Why do we fail as a nation or a species and batter our children against each other? And how can we try to find the better way through conflict?
Remembrance day can never be a celebration, but it can be, in the midst of grief, an acknowledgement of the presence of light in deep darkness.
And now, let there be hope coupled with intention, not to fail again and end up in war.
